Kevin graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College in 1991. Kevin traveled west to practice at a clinic in Calgary for a year. Returning to the Ottawa area, Kevin now shares his time between Carleton Veterinary Services and the Lanark Veterinary Clinic. Kevin has a keen interest in surgery, especially orthopedics. Kevin is married with three daughters. He is an avid hockey fan and enjoys participating in soccer and scuba diving.
Dr. Mike Viezel comes to our clinic after practicing for 30 years at the St. Lawrence Valley Animal Hospital in Cornwall, Ontario. Currently he resides with his wife in Manotick, Ontario and has two grown children. Dr. Mike loves hockey. With such a love for hockey, he scouts for the Ontario Hockey League. Dr. Mike also enjoys and spends time doing photography.
Dr. Wendy comes to us with over 30 years of veterinary experience. She graduated from the University of Bristol in the United Kingdom. Since arriving in Canada, Dr. Wendy has worked in small animal practices. Wendy is married to a fellow veterinarian and has one son. Wendy adores her cats and when she’s not skiing she is often found shovelling snow paths around the house for them. In the summer months, Wendy works on her gardens –waging war on weeds with varying degrees of success.
Dr. Randall has been practicing veterinary medicine for 42 years. She worked in her own clinic in Stittsville for 30 years. After retiring from her own business, she realized that she couldn’t stay away from the animals, and joins us on a part-time basis at Carleton Veterinary Services.
Born and raised in Vitoria -ES Brazil, Haerishton is son and brother of Veterinarians and a graduate in Veterinary Medicine from Federal Rural University of Rio de Janeiro in 2005.
In 2007, Haerishton moved to Smiths Falls to work as a veterinary technician at Lanark Veterinary Clinic and occasionally works at Carleton Veterinary Service as well. He is currently working on his Ontario Veterinary Board Certification.
Haerishton married Vera Yonah Lima in 2008 and they have welcomed their firstborn, Benjamin, this past February.
Barb Bacon is the Hospital Administrator. With her nursing and administrative background she effectively coordinates the clinic and staff to provide the best possible care for all the clients and their pets. Barb is also actively involved with her children’s schooling and their extra curricular activities. She enjoys running, swimming, cycling and competing in local runs and triathalons.
Carrie Smith has her BSc in Physical Therapy and is a Certified Canine Rehab Therapist and is Certified in Acupuncture by the Acupuncture Foundation of Canada Institute and Certified in Gunn Intra-Muscular Stimulation.
When Carrie isn’t working on canines she practices physiotherapy on humans with a private practice in Kemptville, Ontario. Carrie has been to two Olympic Games and is currently one of the team physiotherapists for the national men’s rugby team.
Trina is a graduate of Ridgetown College and is a Veterinarian Technician at Carleton Veterinary Services. Trina is a very knowledgeable member of the team and as a result is regularly called upon for her expertise. Although Trina is a woman of few words she did share with us the fact that she enjoys swimming and country music.
Connie grew up on a dairy farm in Mountain, Ontario and she has been working with animals since she was a young girl. Connie graduated from the Veterinary Technology program at St. Lawrence College in May 2007
and has been working at Carleton Veterinary Services since October 2007. Connie adores her one dog and one cat.
Amber is a Veterinary Technical Assistant working at Carleton Veterinary Services.
With 15 years of grooming experience we are happy to have Mary working part-time at Carleton Vet Services. Mary is always happy to help you with your pet’s grooming needs.
Kimberly Young
Kim assists at the kennel at Carleton Veterinary Services. She has been working at the clinic for three years, including a year as a Co-op student – but has been a client since she was six! Kim is a second year university student in a pre-veterinary program with the goal of becoming a veterinarian. Kim has a huge passion for animals and she tries to spend much of her time with her
three cats and miniature horse. In her spare time, Kim loves to row, sing Disney songs and be physically active.
Administrative Staff
Ellen Stang
Ellen Stang is the Office Manager starting with Carleton Vet Services in 1997. Her extensive experience working as receptionist, secretary and bookkeeper in a variety of fields has proven to be an asset to the clinic. Ellen, with her husband Ray, are active members in the Carleton Place and District Civitan Club. Ellen is the proud ‘gramma’ of one granddaughter and three grandsons.
Karen works as a receptionist at Carleton Vet Services in North Gower and has done so for approximately 3.5 years. Her duties include answering the phone, booking appointments and assisting the technicians as required. Karen enjoys gardening at home and also tends to the garden at the clinic. Additionally, Karen enjoys being active, practicing yoga and walking her dog, Ella. She also has three cats – two siamese cats named Gizmo and Gyro and an orange tabby, Lulu. She enjoys all kinds of music especially jazz, R&B and classical.
