Veterinarians


Dr. Kevin Bacon

Kevin graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College in 1991. Kevin traveled west to practice at a clinic in Calgary for a year. Returning to the Ottawa area, Kevin now shares his time between Carleton Veterinary Services and the Lanark Veterinary Clinic. Kevin has a keen interest in surgery, especially orthopedics. Kevin is married with three daughters. He is an avid hockey fan and enjoys participating in soccer and scuba diving.

 

 

Dr. Mike Viezel

Dr. Mike Viezel comes to our clinic after practicing for 30 years at the St. Lawrence Valley Animal Hospital in Cornwall, Ontario. Currently he resides with his wife in Manotick, Ontario and has two grown children. Dr. Mike loves hockey. With such a love for hockey, he scouts for the Ontario Hockey League. Dr. Mike also enjoys and spends time doing photography.

 

 

Dr. Wendy Hare

Dr. Wendy comes to us with over 30 years of veterinary experience. She graduated from the University of Bristol in the United Kingdom. Since arriving in Canada, Dr. Wendy has worked in small animal practices. Wendy is married to a fellow veterinarian and has one son. Wendy adores her cats and when she’s not skiing she is often found shovelling snow paths around the house for them. In the summer months, Wendy works on her gardens –waging war on weeds with varying degrees of success.

 

Dr. Sue Vetrosky

Dr. Vetrovsky graduated from Ontario Veterinary College, Guelph, in 2001 and has been practicing veterinary medicine since then – both as an associate veterinarian and a locum. She lives in Kingston with her husband Alex and their dogs Arka, Illa, and Lucky.

 

 

 

Dr. Nicole Robinson

Dr. Robinson graduated from Ontario Veterinary College in 2011.  She attended the University of Guelph from 2004 – 2007 for her Biological Sciences undergraduate degree majoring in Animal Biology.  In her final year of Veterinary School, she pursued a special interest in small and exotic animal medicine.  Her other interests include gardening, kickboxing, camping and spending time with her family – furry and human alike.

 

 

Haerishton R. C Lima

Born and raised in Vitoria -ES Brazil, Haerishton is son and brother of Veterinarians and a graduate in Veterinary Medicine from Federal Rural University of Rio de Janeiro in 2005.

In 2007, Haerishton moved to Smiths Falls  to work as a veterinary technician at Lanark Veterinary Clinic and occasionally works at  Carleton Veterinary Service as well. He is currently working on his Ontario Veterinary Board Certification.

Haerishton married Vera Yonah Lima in 2008 and they have welcomed their firstborn, Benjamin, this past February.

 

Management

Barbara Bacon, CVPM

Barb Bacon is the Hospital Administrator. With her nursing and administrative background she effectively coordinates the clinic and staff to provide the best possible care for all the clients and their pets. Barb is also actively involved with her children’s schooling and their extra curricular activities. She enjoys running, swimming, cycling and competing in local runs and triathalons.

 

 

Veterinary Technicians

Brittany Ritchie
Brittany graduated from St. Lawrence College in 2009 from their Veterinary Technologist program. Brittany started at the clinic while as a student and also during the summer months. She has been employed full time with LVC since 2009. Brittany has a special interest in surgical assisting and critical care. She loves that her job allows her to always keep learning new medical knowledge and she never loses sight of the important things: caring for family, pets, and the little guys.

 

Sandy Krushenski

Sandy graduated from St. Lawrence College as a Veterinary Technologist in 1984. She has enjoyed working at Lanark Veterinary Clinic since 2006. Sandy has three children. When not at the clinic, Sandy is busy on her farm helping to raise sheep.

 

 

 

Veterinary Assistants

Sarah Varcoe
Sarah graduated from Northern College of Applied Arts and Technology in 2009 and started as a Cooperative Student at LVC in 2008; and then employed in September of 2009 as a Veterinary Assistant. Sarah enjoys assisting in surgery with restraining and monitoring, and is trained to apply LVC’s new Laser Therapy to surgical patients. Sarah also does nail trims and suture removal for the clinic. She loves keeping the animals happy and comfortable at their time away from home.

 

 

Groomers

Melody Gault

Mel provides a  range of grooming services to clientele — from bathing, clipping, and nail trimming to ear cleanings and much more. Mel has worked at Carleton Veterinary Services and Lanark Veterinary Clinic for 12 years. Prior to that, she owned and operated pet grooming in Ottawa for over 20 years.

Mel has bred and shown dogs most of her life and has produced many champions in Canada and the US.

 

 

 

Administrative Staff

Khris Hardy

Kris has been employed at Lanark Veterinary Clinic for over 11 years. Kris books appointments, answers the telephone and helps clients at the front desk.

Kris has been happily married for over 40 years and has one daughter and son-in-law and three fabulous grand children. When not working or spending time with her family, Kris can be found driving the roads in her red convertible mustang – with the top down.

 

Christine Banks

Christine is married and has three children, and  four grandchildren. When not at the veterinary clinic, Christine enjoys spending time with family, and fishing with her husband of more than 10 years. She is an avid reader, and loves crafts, knitting and crocheting.
