In her early teens, Vera moved from Brazil to Nova Scotia when her family immigrated to Canada. There she attended Dalhousie University earning her Bachelor’s degree in Political Science & International Relations in 2008. In that same year, she married Dr. Haerishton Lima and moved to Smiths Falls.
In this town, they received their greatest gifts: Benjamin and Sarah. So, in 2015, they purchased both Carleton and Lanark Vet Clinics, where she currently works as the Hospital Administrator.
Vera enjoys sipping her coffee, especially lattes, baking for her family, attending her weekly women’s study group, and unwinding watching a movie with her husband and kids. /above all, she loves to help people and her work at the clinics!
She is an extremely gifted problem solver, and has a unique way of understanding people and their problems. In fact, her communication skills are boosted by her proficiency of English, Portuguese, French and Spanish.
Seeing her in action sometimes make people suspect that she is able to speak even the language of our patients… we tried to confirm that with her house pets, Candy, a chocolate lab, and Moses, a rescued cat, but they were too shy to speak to us!
